It fits comfortably into the listener’s ear canal without causing fatigue or discomfort. Before putting on the ear tube, pull the end of the stethoscope outward; the metal ear tube should be tilted forward to be inserted into the external auditory canal, ensuring the ear cavity is tightly sealed with the ear canal. Everyone’s ear canal size varies, so you can choose a size that fits properly. If the wearing method is correct but there is poor sealing between the ear cavity and ear canal, the listening effect will be poor. In such cases, pull the ear tube outward to adjust its elasticity. An incorrect wearing method, where the ear cavity and ear canal are not properly sealed, will result in poor listening performance. For example, if the ear tube is worn in the opposite direction, hearing will be completely lost.
Remove debris: If the stethoscope is always kept in the pocket or not maintained regularly, cotton fluff, fibers, or dust in the clothing may block the stethoscope’s ear tube. Regular maintenance and cleaning can prevent this issue.
Check airtightness: The high-quality sound transmission of the stethoscope is related to the fit between the stethoscope and the patient's body surface, and between the stethoscope and the listener's ear canal. Loose parts of the earpiece, loose Y-tube, or damaged Y-tube can affect the fit. The better the fit, the more accurately the sounds from the patient's body can be transmitted to the listener's ears.
