The RK3036 chip features a dual-core Cortex-A7 architecture, with a maximum clock frequency of up to 1.0GHz; it supports 1080p H.265/H.264/VC-1/MPEG/VP8 video decoding; it is compatible with a variety of streaming media formats; and it supports a variety of screen casting interaction protocols, such as DLNA, Miracast, WiDi, and more interconnection protocols.

RK3036 is the industry's first solution to support H.265 video encoding and decoding, achieving the three major enhancements for TV casting products:

1. The picture quality is clearer, and the bandwidth saving reaches 50%.

2. The bit error rate is smaller, and the mosaics are reduced by 59%.

 H.265 can transmit higher-quality network video over limited bandwidth. It can play the same quality video with only half the bandwidth of H.264. Technically, the encoding units of H.265 can be selected from the smallest 8x8 to the largest 64x64. For regions with less information, larger macroblocks are divided, resulting in fewer coded bits, while in areas with more details, smaller and more macroblocks are divided, resulting in more coded bits. This is similar to focusing on encoding the image, enhancing the block for more critical key details, thereby reducing the overall bit rate and improving the coding efficiency.
