Oil paints should be cleaned after daily use. Soak the brushes in warm water mixed with detergent (household detergent is very effective at removing oil) for ten minutes, but do not immerse the handle as this will dissolve the paint. Then, use soap to thoroughly clean the bristles, ensuring that you draw circles with the bristles vertically from the palm of your hand to completely remove the color from the brush base. If the color from the brush base is not completely cleaned, it will accumulate over time, effectively shortening the length of the brush. Secondly, it is essential to clean the brushes after each use. Clean the color from the brushes thoroughly, squeeze out any excess water, wrap the brushes in newspaper to match their shape, and store them for future use. This can ensure that your oil paints are as good as new each time you use them (I highly recommend this method; it's based on years of experience).
