limbing rose seeds have the characteristic of dormancy. The harvested seeds are usually used for sowing and cannot germinate. Before sowing, they usually need to undergo 30-50 days of stratification and germination promotion, the general operation method is as follows:

i. Stratification and germination promotion

it is generally appropriate to process stratification and accelerate germination in winter, because the treatment requires a low temperature environment below 5℃. First, soak the rose seeds in water with gibberellin for 48 hours, and then mix them with wet sand. The humidity of the sand is mixed into a group by hand, and it will be scattered if you let it go, the ratio of seed to sand is 1:3, and finally the sprout is accumulated in the environment below 5℃ for 30~50 days. If the temperature condition in the natural state does not meet the requirements, you can put the mixed seeds and sand in containers and put them into the refrigerator fresh-keeping layer at 3-5 degrees for stratification and budding treatment.

II. Sowing

seeds that sprout through stratification can be sown all year round. Water the seeds before sowing, and then sow the seeds that have been accelerated into the soil. After sowing, cover the seeds with 1~1.5cm of soil. If sowing in summer, it is recommended that you put the flowerpot in an air-conditioned room or in a cool place, and the ambient temperature is about 20-28 ℃.

III. Post-broadcast management

after sowing, keep the soil moist. Do not water it frequently, let alone accumulate water in the soil, and do not use fertilizer in the process of seed germination. Generally, the seedling starts to emerge in 15 days. If you still cannot germinate after the above operations, it is likely that the quality of the seed itself is a problem.
