卫生洁具的质量要求包括有尺寸允许偏差，外观质量、变形、 物理性能、冲洗功能等几个方面。外观质量要求对洗面器、水槽、大便器和水箱的观察面分为洗净面、可见面和安装面三种。洗净面是指产品安装后使用时水能冲洗的可见面。可见面是指产品安装后人们站在一般位置就容易见到的表面。安装面是指产品安装后与墙（地）面或其他部位接触的隐蔽面；各类卫生洁具的洗净面上及水箱的可见面上都不允许有细小的裂纹。洗面器、水槽和大便器的可见面上允许有不影响使用的裂纹。各类卫生洁具的各个表面允许有不明显且不影响使用的桔釉（即釉面似桔皮状，光泽较差）和烟熏（指表面局部或全部呈现灰、褐、黑等异色）缺陷存在。各类卫生洁具的各个表面上允许有少量不影响使用的针孔、毛孔、斑点、坑包存在。洗面器、水槽的洗净面和大便器、水箱的各个面都不允许有磕碰。各类卫生洁具的各个表面上（除洗面器的洗净面外）允许有少量且不影响使用的缺釉和釉面附着的异物存在。用户在选购洗面器、水槽、大便器和水箱时，可以根据上面介绍的外观质量要求综合判定它们的质量。此外，用户还应仔细观察每件产品或一套产品之间的颜色差异，一般要求应该没有明显的色差。
