Water supply/ink storage mechanism

The ink supply/ink storage mechanism has various methods such as drop-in ink supply, cartridge ink tube, piston ink supply, suction ink, pressure bag ink supply, pull rod ink supply, and submarine ink supply.

The ink that is dropped into the pen is directly stored in the pen tube located behind the grip. When refilling the ink, simply twist open the grip to directly pour the ink into the pen tube using a dropper. The advantage is that it has a large capacity for storing ink, but the disadvantage is that it is easy to leak and cause contamination.

The cartridge-style ink tube encapsulates the ink within a sealed ink tube, which is then installed behind the grip when it is used. It uses the guiding ink tube protruding behind the grip to pierce the seal of the ink tube or push open the small beads that close the ink tube to allow the ink to flow along the guiding ink tube to the tip of the pen. The small beads that close the ink tube also have another function. Due to the limited volume of the ink tube, the weight of the ink may not be sufficient to overcome the adhesion between the ink and the inner wall of the ink tube (capillary action), leading to the accumulation of ink in the upper part of the ink tube and unable to flow into the tip of the pen. At this time, the movement of the small beads in the ink tube with the writing action is sufficient to destroy the adhesion of the ink to the inner wall of the ink tube.

The piston is inked, and a hollow sleeve is connected to the rear of the grip. Inside the sleeve is a piston that is connected to the twist knob at the tip of the pen. This piston can be controlled by the twist knob to move forward and backward in the sleeve. When the piston retracts, it helps create a negative pressure in the sleeve, allowing the ink to be sucked into the sleeve and stored.

The ink is pressed into a rubber or silicone ink cartridge that is connected to the rear of the pen. The ink cartridge itself serves as the storage space for ink. Usually, there is a U-shaped spring on the outside of the ink cartridge to protect the ink cartridge. When refilling the pen, the spring compresses the ink cartridge to discharge air, and when the pressure is released, the ink cartridge uses the negative pressure to suck in ink due to its original shape returning.

A pull rod ink filling method is a deformation of the ink filling method for the pressure bag. A pull rod is installed on the pen barrel, and when the ink is filled, the pull rod is moved to press the ink bag on the pen barrel.

The moon-shaped ink pad is a deformation of the ink pad on the pressure bag. A moon-shaped button is installed on the pen barrel, which is normally flat and glued to the arc-shaped card groove on the pen barrel. It passes through the gap between the pen barrel and the moon-shaped button to prevent accidental ink from being touched. When refilling ink, remove the card groove to allow the moon-shaped card groove to be pressed down, compressing the ink bag inside the pen barrel to refill ink.

Ink is also a deformation of ink on the pressure bag. A long hole is opened on the pen barrel, and when the coin is inserted into the long hole to press the ink bag on the pen barrel, ink is applied.

The ink sucker can be considered as a composite of the card-type ink tube and the piston or pressure bag ink filling mechanism. In front, it is a card box that is combined with the grip position, and in the back, it is a pressure bag or piston ink filling mechanism. When not in use, the ink sucker can also be removed and replaced with the same specification card-type ink tube.
