For thousands of years, it has been the subject of poets and painters, from the "Book of Songs" and "Lisao" to the "Four Gentlemen" and "Three Friends in Winter," bamboo is a symbol of simplicity and high virtue. In the hearts of the Chinese people, bamboo is a plant that belongs to the gentleman type, so "The Young Scholar's Garden" says: "Bamboo is called a gentleman, and the pine is called a husband." The so-called "high integrity" is a proof that the cultivation of personality directly takes its inspiration from bamboo. Therefore, there were many ancient people who loved bamboo in our history, such as the "Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest" in the Wei and Jin dynasties, the "Six Echoes of Bamboo Stream" in the Tang Dynasty, Wang Wei's "Bamboo Villa," and Su Dongpo's declaration: "One can live without meat, but one cannot live without bamboo." In the Song Dynasty, Wen Yukai's "Ode to Bamboo" mentions "The heart is empty and different from the grass, and the joints are stronger than ordinary wood," which further personifies bamboo.
