Artificial leather material based on ultra-fine fiber
Artificial suede is a biologically inspired material made from ultra-fine denier fibers (such as composite fibers of polyester/nylon). It is produced through either weaving, knitting, or nonwoven techniques. After a weight reduction process and a brushing process, the surface develops a fine fleece, giving it a soft touch and good drape. It outperforms natural suede in terms of breathability and wear resistance. This material is widely used in the fields of apparel, footwear, furniture decoration, and industry, and became one of the mainstream fabrics in the fashion industry around 2015. The production process employs a fiber dissolution technique known as island-type fiber dissolution, enabling the fiber to achieve a single-fiber fineness of 0.05D (approximately 0.44μm) [1].
