PH Wide Test Strips (1-14)

【Brief Description】: Chemistry cannot be separated from solutions, and solutions can be classified as acidic or alkaline. The “meter” used to test the acidity or alkalinity of solutions is the “wide pH test paper”. This is a ready-made paper strip that, when used, is torn off and a drop of solution is dropped on it. The acidity or alkalinity of the solution can be determined by its color change, making it very convenient.

Test strip usage instructions:

1. Test the properties of the solution: Take a small piece of test paper on a watch glass or slide, and use a glass rod or pipette with the sample liquid to apply it to the middle of the paper. Observe the color change, compare it with the color chart, and determine the nature of the solution.
2. Test the properties of the gas: First, moisten the test strip with distilled water, attach it to one end of a glass rod, bring the test strip close to the gas using the glass rod, and observe the color change to determine the nature of the gas.
3. Notes:
(1) The test strip should not be inserted directly into the solution.
(2) The test strips must not come into contact with the tube mouth, bottle mouth, catheter mouth, etc.
(3) When measuring the pH of a solution, the test strip should not be moistened with distilled water in advance, as moistening the test strip would dilute the solution being tested, leading to inaccurate measurements. The correct method is to use a glass rod dipped in the solution to touch the middle of the test strip. After the test strip changes color, it can be compared with a standard color chart to determine the pH of the solution.
(4) After removing the test strip, the container holding the test strip should be tightly sealed to prevent contamination by some gases in the laboratory.
