From January to June this year, the city received a total of 8,872,700 tourists, an increase of 7.99% over the same period last year, including 293,700 overseas tourists; the total tourism revenue was 10.646 billion yuan, an increase of 9.47% over the same period of last year, creating foreign exchange of 171,372,500 US dollars.

Since the beginning of this year, Yiwu has adhered to the concept of global tourism development, focusing on deepening the construction of China's international business tourism destinations, actively promoting the transformation of tourism industry with the core of shopping tour and the transformation and upgrading of travel meeting, and vigorously carrying out investment and project development through tourism, and making great effort to enrich the Yiwu tourism product system by major tourism projects. Yiwu promotes the construction of major tourism projects such as future health and leisure projects, coordinately promotes the Qiyin•Da’an slow-nourishing community project, guides the planning and development of ancient town of Buddhist temple and the Provincial Tourism Resort of the Buddha Temple. A batch of tourism projects have been contracted, such as Yiwu Rice Forest Park Project, Commercial Complex Project of Yiwu Ice and Snow, Yeweiyang Town Project, and Xiaoguanyu Rural Life Complex Project, etc.

In order to create a good global tourism environment, the Municipal Tourism Exhibition Committee has comprehensively reviewed and announced the “zero visit” and “maximum-running” items of the government about handling things for the masses and enterprises, publicized public service matters, streamlined the examination and approval materials, and completed the administrative approval and service guide editing of projects. At present, all administrative examination and approval items of the Municipal Tourism Exhibition Committee have been approved online.
