The statistics provided by Yiwu Customs show that the amount of Christmas products that Yiwu exported in the first five months this year has reached 130 million RMB, an annual increase of 113.2%. The three countries that received the most exports from Yiwu are Brazil, Chile and the United States, and their value of Yiwu exports has increased by 96.4%, 37.2% and 45.3%, respectively.

      A good number of overseas purchasers began to select Christmas products right after the Chinese New Year, and many of them made their orders in April and May. In general, June to September is the peak season for merchants to purchase Christmas products, and many will come to Yiwu during this time.

      Guo Qingkai, who sells Christmas decorations at District 1 at Yiwu International Trade City, has been busy since the start of June. In the morning, he needs to take orders at the shop; at noon, he needs to negotiate on the phone with purchasers about the details of sending the products; in the afternoon, he usually goes to the storehouse to count the products.

      “Up till now, I have sent over 300 Christmas products, which were mainly sent to South America and Europe. This situation will continue until November.”
