On June 28, Yiwu Economic and Technical Development Zone and Yiwu Information Optoelectronics Hi-Tech Industrial Park joined the G60 Sci-Tech and Innovation Corridor, which establishes that Yiwu is now fully engaged in the development strategy of the Yangtze River Delta.
Yiwu Economic and Technical Development Zone was established in 1992 and recognized by the State Council as a national development zone. It covers an area of 93 km2.
Plans for the establishment of Yiwu Information Optoelectronics Hi-Tech Industrial Park were approved by the Zhejiang provincial government in December 2016. It was initially Yiwu Industrial Park and covers an area of 143.25 km2.
The G60 Sci-Tech and Innovation Corridor is one of the most economically vigorous districts in China and has the highest level of urbanization. It has become a unique and cooperative platform in the Yangtze River Delta area after three years of development. It consists of economic and technical development zones and high-tech zones from Shanghai, Jiaxing, Hangzhou, Jinhua, Suzhou, Huzhou, Xuancheng, Qianghu and Hefei.
