Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province has developed 14 international logistics lines oriented towards Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership member countries based on the market procurement and consignor system, the local commerce bureau announced on Nov 16.
In recent years, Yiwu has been working to build a new international logistics model for cross-border e-commerce, which integrates domestic cloud warehouses, Yiwu-based centralized warehouses, and overseas warehouses. The Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe freight trains have also opened 18 direct lines to overseas warehouses.
Relying on the convenient and efficient cross-border trade logistics system of Yiwu, cross-border platforms such as Shopee and Lazada have set up centralized warehouses in Yiwu to collect and export cross-border e-commerce goods from all over the country to Southeast Asia.
In addition, Yiwu has cooperated with relevant enterprises in Shandong province to develop a direct transport route and build five overseas warehouses in Japan for cross-border e-commerce in Japan and South Korea.
According to the person in charge of Zhejiang Haiyuan International Freight Forwarding Co, the new international logistics model is able to reduce pressure on commodity inventory and improve the turnover efficiency of foreign trade goods for Japanese and South Korean merchants.
