Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province released 10 initiatives for foreign-related services on Dec 30, aiming to become a more open city, deepen the comprehensive reform of foreign-related services, and continue to improve the business environment for foreigners.
The city will work to make living and working in Yiwu easier for foreigners, strengthen policy consultation and government services, facilitate foreign business, enhance legal services for foreigners, build more international integration communities, improve the convenience of medical services for foreigners, support entrepreneurship and innovation among young people from abroad, release and share more information for foreigners, create a diverse and friendly social and cultural environment, and increase respect for foreigners.

Yiwu is known as the world's largest small-commodity distribution center. It now trades with 232 countries and regions, and more than 65 percent of its economy is export-based.
With the joint efforts of various business entities, Yiwu saw strong imports and exports in 2022, with exports exceeding 400 billion yuan ($58.18 billion) for the first time and imports doubling from last year.
The thriving Yiwu market attracts buyers from all around the world, increasing the prosperity of the city.
With the continuous optimization and adjustment of epidemic prevention and control measures, the number of resident foreigners in Yiwu now sits at 10,000, and the number is still rising.
