Zhejiang province handled a total of 309 China-Europe freight trains in January, up 128.2 percent year-on-year, carrying 26,046 20-foot equivalent unit containers.
Specifically, there were 154 outbound trains carrying 13,136 TEUs of goods, a year-on-year increase of 48.2 percent, and 155 inbound trains, surging by 405.5 percent and carrying 12,910 TEUs of goods.
Yiwu West Railway Station and Jinhua South Railway Station were the two stops providing China-Europe freight train services in Zhejiang, supporting Zhejiang's export-oriented economic development.
In 2022, among the 2,269 China-Europe freight trains that operated in Zhejiang, 1,569 trains with 129,334 TEUs of goods departed from Yiwu, a year-on-year increase of 22.8 percent. Jinhua operated 700 such freight trains carrying 57,030 TEUs of goods, an increase of 10.2 percent over the previous year.
In order to meet demand, Yiwu and Jinhua continued to provide China-Europe freight train services over the past Spring Festival holiday, according to officials.
