Yiwu, a barometer for the global fashion accessory industry, is home to 378,000 accessory enterprises.
From January to Dec 19, more than 100,000 new accessory enterprises were registered, mainly producing and designing accessories such as brooches, necklaces, hair accessories, and bracelets, including more than 800,000 varieties, sold to more than 100 countries and regions. The leading enterprises in the industry have already set up factories in Yiwu.
"The market is different from before, as there are popular color schemes every month, and the product life cycle is shorter, but what remains unchanged is that global fashion accessory sales trends depend on Yiwu," said Sun Lingjuan, an accessory seller in Yiwu.
In recent years, with the popularity of livestreaming, the proportion of accessory supply to livestreaming e-commerce has risen from about 10 percent in 2019 to about 30 percent.
Accessories are a fast fashion product, and merchants need to constantly launch a large number of new products to attract customers.
Fuduola Accessories, for example, launches new products on the 5th, 10th, and 25th of every month, each time updating 30 to 40 models. The design team gets inspiration from social media and fashion magazines, and recently released 50 new products at the Yiwu accessory brand global debut show.
