Yiwu's total import and export value in foreign trade increased by 18.1% year on year from January to July

According to statistics from Yiwu Customs, the total import and export value of Yiwu reached 379.1 billion yuan from January to July this year, an increase of 18.1% year on year. Among them, exports amounted to 335.97 billion yuan, up 18.5% year on year, while imports totaled 43.13 billion yuan, up 15.7% year on year. The shares of import and export, exports, and imports in the province were 12.6%, 15.0%, and 5.5% respectively, with increases of 1.2, 1.3, and 0.4 percentage points respectively.

In the first seven months of this year, Yiwu maintained steady growth in import and export with major trading markets such as Africa, Latin America, the United States, and ASEAN. According to Yiwu Customs, from January to July, Yiwu's import and export with these countries and regions amounted to 68.33 billion yuan, 63.15 billion yuan, 48.15 billion yuan, and 37.58 billion yuan respectively, with year-on-year growth rates of 15.4%, 27.8%, 32.2%, and 35.8% respectively. Yiwu's import and export with India and Saudi Arabia amounted to 18.49 billion yuan and 9.11 billion yuan respectively, with year-on-year growth rates of 20.2% and 13.0% respectively.

During the same period, Yiwu's total import and export with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative amounted to 236.2 billion yuan, an increase of 20.4% year on year, accounting for 62.3% of Yiwu's total import and export value during the same period.

From the perspective of export methods, market procurement trade continues to dominate. From January to July this year, Yiwu exported 270.18 billion yuan through market procurement trade, an increase of 24.3% year on year, accounting for 80.4% of Yiwu's total export value and driving an 18.6 percentage point increase in Yiwu's export growth. During the same period, Yiwu's import and export through general trade amounted to 86.95 billion yuan, an increase of 4.0% year on year.

From January to July, Yiwu imported consumer goods worth 25.32 billion yuan, an increase of 28.5% year on year, accounting for 58.7% of Yiwu's total import value. Among them, the import of beauty and cosmetics and personal care products amounted to 4.67 billion yuan, an increase of 37.1% year on year.
