On the evening of September 13th, in the Jimingshan Community of Jiangdong Street, over 60 foreign friends from countries such as Iran, Colombia, and Yemen, together with Tongyue social workers and local residents of Yiwu, participated in various activities including a theater performance of the story of "Chang'e Flying to the Moon," Mid-Autumn poetry relay, DIY lantern making, and mooncake tasting. Through these experiences, they intimately immersed themselves in the culture of traditional Chinese festivals, fostering cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign residents.
"This is my first time trying to make a rabbit lantern. The whole process was very interesting and has given me a deeper understanding of the Mid-Autumn Festival," said Massoud from Colombia, who was enthusiastically engaged in making the lantern, focusing intently on every step. As he gazed at the rabbit lantern he had crafted with his own hands, a smile of joy spread across his face, marveling at the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture and expressing his hope for more opportunities to learn about and experience traditional Chinese customs.
