On October 13, a press conference for the release of the Chinese and English versions of group standards for outdoor and sporting goods small commodities, hosted by the Yiwu Small Commodities Standards Innovation Association, was held at the Yiwu International Expo Centre.

The standards released this time include "Foldable Fabric Tables and Chairs," "Magnetic Darts and Dartboards," and "Pickleball Rackets," providing important standard references for the production and trade of related products and filling the gap in industry standards.

"With the vigorous development of global outdoor recreational activities and sports, the demand for outdoor and sporting goods continues to grow, and product innovations emerge endlessly. Standards are crucial means to improve quality, regulate the market, and ensure safety. The three group standards for small commodities released this time have strong applicability and operability," said a relevant responsible person from the Yiwu Small Commodities Standards Innovation Association.

Foldable fabric tables and chairs are a type of furniture that feature folding functionality and are easy to carry and store. They are common in daily life and belong to a subcategory of furniture. The standard for "Foldable Fabric Tables and Chairs" integrates customer needs and focuses on product functional characteristics, usage characteristics, and physicochemical properties. It establishes technical indicators such as appearance, assembly requirements, corrosion resistance of metal parts, color fastness, seam strength, durability of folding mechanisms, static load capacity of seat surfaces and chair backs, and vertical static load capacity of main tabletops.

Pickleball originated in the United States and is a ball sport that combines the characteristics of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Due to its strong entertainment value, diverse gameplay, moderate exercise intensity, and suitability for people of all ages, it has become popular in many countries and regions in Europe and North America. The standard for "Pickleball Rackets" combines the needs of foreign customers and relevant competition rules, specifying requirements for dimensions, surface roughness, gloss, and other aspects to ensure that the performance and quality of the racket meet the regulations of related competitions and the needs of users.

Magnetic darts and dartboards are dart toys used for entertainment and play, especially popular among children. In addition to meeting the mandatory national toy safety standards GB 6675, this standard adds product performance requirements such as appearance, specifications and dimensions, and corrosion resistance, establishing a complete technical indicator system and providing a standard basis for the production and trade of magnetic darts and dartboards.

The export share of the products corresponding to these three standards is high. To facilitate international trade, the association has also translated and prepared English versions of the standards. Especially for pickleball rackets, which have a large audience overseas and are typically "produced domestically and used internationally," the formulation of English-version standards will better serve foreign merchants and effectively enhance product competitiveness.

The successful holding of this press conference not only marks significant progress in promoting standardization in the outdoor and sporting goods industry in Yiwu but also lays a solid foundation for the healthy development of the industry.
