The 40-day 2025 Spring Festival travel rush came to a close today. During this period, "Traveling Zhejiang by High-speed Rail" emerged as one of the hottest travel methods. What sparks have been ignited by the deep integration of "Railway + Tourism"?
Aboard the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway, a new wave of tourists from the Yangtze River Delta region arrived in Nanxun Ancient Town to experience the unique charm of the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River. "With the opening of the high-speed rail, it only takes about half an hour to get here, saving us a lot of time," said a visitor from outside the region.
Zhang Zhihui, a villager from Xunnan Village, Nanxun Town, Nanxun District, Huzhou City, said, "We also wanted to capitalize on this wave of visitors, so we converted our house into a homestay. Indeed, after the high-speed rail was opened, our business has been particularly bustling, bringing us a significant increase in income."
Statistics show that since the start of this year's Spring Festival travel rush, the Yangtze River Delta Railway has transported over 94 million passengers, with an average of approximately 2.48 million passengers per day. Currently, Zhejiang has entered the national tier of provinces with more than 2,000 kilometers of high-speed rail, and 75% of the cities and counties in the province now have railway access directly to their doorsteps.
