On May 15, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian presided over a regular press conference. A reporter raised a question regarding China's announcement during the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum to implement a visa-free policy on a trial basis for five countries, including Brazil.
In response, Lin Jian stated that to further facilitate personnel exchanges between China and other countries, China has decided to expand the scope of countries eligible for visa-free entry. From June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, a trial visa-free policy will be implemented for holders of ordinary passports from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay. Holders of ordinary passports from these five countries may enter China without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange visits, or transit, provided their stay does not exceed 30 days.
