The annual mid-year e-commerce shopping spree of "618" has just wound down, yet another e-commerce extravaganza has taken the baton and gone live in Yiwu. On June 21st, the 2025 Zhejiang International E-commerce Expo (hereinafter referred to as the E-commerce Expo), lasting for three days, commenced at the Yiwu International Expo Center.
With the theme of "Building a New Development Pattern and Fostering High-Quality E-commerce", this edition of the E-commerce Expo features a total of 2,200 international standard booths, spanning an exhibition area of over 50,000 square meters. It comprises eight major exhibition zones, including the Silk Road E-commerce Zone, Rural E-commerce Zone, Live Streaming E-commerce Zone, E-commerce Application Technology Zone, E-commerce Service Enterprise Zone, E-commerce Industrial Belt Zone, Creative Products Zone, and Flexible Supply Chain Zone. These zones collectively showcase the latest R&D and application achievements in e-commerce from both domestic and international sources, as well as full-industry-chain services.
The expo has drawn the participation of 1,182 Chinese and foreign enterprises from countries and regions such as the United States, India, South Korea, Singapore, Romania, Thailand, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia, as well as from 24 domestic provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions.
The current international landscape is marked by a confluence of changes and chaos, with foreign trade facing heightened instability and uncertainties. The risks associated with relying on a single market have intensified, prompting a consensus among enterprises to "go global" through globalized布局 (strategic positioning) and diversified development.
As the top "county" among China's top 100 e-commerce counties, a crucial node city along the "Belt and Road," and dubbed the "World's Supermarket," Yiwu has witnessed a rapid surge in cross-border e-commerce in recent years, reaching a scale of hundreds of billions of yuan. Its "cloud-based" economic and trade cooperation is brimming with vitality. Global leading cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, TikTok, Shein, Temu, and Lazada have all established a presence in Yiwu, offering personalized "going global" services to nearly 300,000 local cross-border e-commerce entities. In the first five months of this year, Yiwu achieved a cross-border e-commerce transaction volume of 73.645 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.29%. Among them, the expansion of the "Silk Road E-commerce" circle has emerged as a new frontier for profit-making. Last year, Yiwu's total imports and exports with countries and regions participating in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" amounted to 413.34 billion yuan.
Leveraging favorable policies and the geographical advantages of the "Yiwu Window," this edition of the E-commerce Expo focuses on "Silk Road E-commerce" as its core, striving to break through into new markets and sectors in cross-border e-commerce. It not only brings together globally renowned e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Alibaba, TikTok Shop, Temu, and Walmart but also introduces nearly 20 international cross-border e-commerce platforms, including South Korea's Coupang, Singapore's Lazada, Africa's pioneer Kikuu, and the innovative B2B platform egatee. Notably, two major regional leaders, Romania's eMAG and the Middle East's Noon, have been newly added, covering emerging markets in Europe, America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, thereby assisting sellers in "opening stores worldwide" and accelerating their access to the trillion-yuan market of the "Belt and Road."
Meanwhile, nearly 200 cross-border e-commerce service providers have been assembled, encompassing full-industry-chain services such as cross-border logistics, overseas warehouses, agency operations, financial payments, intellectual property, taxation, and testing, continuously strengthening and optimizing the "ecosystem" for cross-border e-commerce entities to "go global." A dedicated core zone for "Global Overseas Warehouses and Logistics Solutions" has been set up at this expo, gathering leading global shipping companies, logistics freight forwarders, and overseas warehouse service providers to showcase a diversified and highly compliant overseas warehouse network layout. International freight giants like ZIM Integrated Shipping Services, along with 150 cross-border logistics enterprises from Spain, Thailand, and other countries, will display their latest logistics solutions, including overseas warehouses and the construction of logistics networks along the "Belt and Road," helping small and medium-sized enterprises to establish global service links, optimize global supply chain configurations, and build a diversified international market structure, achieving "worry-free going global" and "global goods distribution" at lower costs and higher efficiency.
