With the extension of the holiday to help slow the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus, many employees cannot return from their hometowns to the cities where they work according to their plans. Since February 2, Yiwu has implemented traffic control, and every vehicle on the road needs a pass.
Wang Bin, head of Zhejiang Wangbin Group Co., Ltd., said that before the Spring Festival, the company had already prepared a batch of goods and planned to transport them to a company in the United States after the holiday ends. The epidemic outbreak, however, ruined their plans. If the company cannot deliver this batch of goods on time, it will have to pay the liquidation damages and also lose subsequent orders.
In the early morning of February 3, Wang rushed to the Management Committee of Yinan Industrial Park, where his company is located, for help. The staff of the Management Committee immediately contacted the Yiwu Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology for feasible solutions under this special circumstance.
After communication and coordination, the Bureau decided to handle these desperate cases with special methods in this period. If a company has need of production or delivery and can ensure the safety of its employees, it is allowed to carry out such business. At present, three companies, including Wangbin Group, has benefited from the policy.
