At 10 a.m. on that day, the train departed from Fuyang West Station and did not embark any other passengers along the way. Due to the large number of applicants, the number of cars was increased to 16. This is a service provided by the China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the Yiwu Municipal Government to ease the return of non-native workers based in Yiwu during the epidemic. To better handle the arrival of these trains, the station has settled agreements with the railway police station, the Yiwu Railway Hub Management Committee and other departments, installed infrared thermometers, opened special exit channels, and facilitated rapid temperature measurement for passengers.
At the Yiwu Railway Station, 51 buses were arranged by the local government waiting for the passengers to arrive. Once they arrived at the station, the passengers boarded on the buses headed for their respective companies. “Over 50 people from the train are heading to our company, including those newly hired who are coming to Yiwu for the first time. This is a very important moment for us,” commented Wu Zhijun, assistant general manager of Yilong Zhaolong Group.
Yu Jianyong, director of the Yiwu Employment and Entrepreneurship Management Center, explained that taking entrepreneurial needs into consideration, Yiwu has sent 10 workgroups to Henan, Anhui, Jiangxi, Shaanxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, among others, to connect and coordinate with local staff in organizing special transport channels for workers returning to Yiwu. Adding this latest train, more than 5,000 workers have returned to Yiwu.
Affected by the epidemic, the post-Spring-Festival wave of return to work has been postponed. With the continuous advancement of the epidemic prevention and control work, in order to steadily continue with the resumption of industrial production, Yiwu launched a series of policies to fully subsidize the transportation costs incurred by the local companies to receive their employees. On the afternoon of February 16, a first batch of 34 chartered trains were sent to Yunnan, Henan, Hebei, Guizhou, and Anhui. On February 18, the first batch of Anhui employees returned to Yiwu by chartered train.
Si Duolin, Party branch secretary of the Yiwu Railway Station, explained that on the afternoon of February 21, two high-speed trains, G4376 and G1374, will arrive from Nanchang and Kunming, respectively, with Yiwu-based workers.
