The origin of the nutcracker:

    One Christmas Eve a hundred years ago, in the small town of germantown, there was a celebration party at the home of Dr. Starbaum. Clara and fritz looked at the beautiful Christmas tree with admiring eyes. Du semel gave Clara, his goddamn daughter, a special Christmas present - the officer'sThe nutcracker.    Then the clock struck twelve, and the dark shadows stirred in the hall. Suddenly a large crowd of rats broke into the living room, ran here and there, and began to attack Clara. There was a rainbow of light in the hall as grandpa du semel told Clara that the nutcracker would protect her. The Christmas tree grows tall. The nutcracker was alive and leading a pack of toys to fight the rat soldier. The rats are strong and the nutcracker is at a disadvantage. Clara picked up a sword and ran to the mouse king, giving him a fatal blow. The rats carried their king away. The nutcracker was badly wounded, and by a sudden miracle it recovered and became a handsome prince to take Clara to a kingdom of sweets. They walked through the Christmas trees. A crowd of snow fairies sang and danced for them, and the prince danced a duet with the snow queen. Clara watched deliriously.

   Since then, the nutcracker has been a symbol of sanctity and heroism, and many families and doorways have placed nutcracker in various shapes for peace and good luck.
