A few days ago, Ms Lv and her daughter, who lived in Yiwu City’s Huimin Community Public Rental Housing, called the Yiwu Municipal Construction Bureau to know the rent reduction policy during the epidemic. The staff verified that Ms Lv and her daughter met the requirements for reduction/exemption, and handled the reduction/exemption procedure of rent for public rental housing.

　　According to reports, in early February, Yiwu Municipal Construction Bureau proposed the housing security stage policy during the epidemic. Those public rental housing security objects working for medical care, sanitation, public transportation, property and other industries involved in the epidemic prevention and control can be exempted from the rent of public rental housing for two months. Those families with economic income difficulties or major diseases (whose member belongs to the minimum living security object, or is disabled above the second level or multiply disabled, or suffers from special disease under high medical expenses) or with difficulties in paying the rent as scheduled during the epidemic can be exempted from the rent of public rental housing for two months after making declaration and obtaining approval. For those families unable to pay the rent as scheduled for the epidemic, the overdue treatment will not be made, and they will not be included in the personal credit record. Those families who can obtain rent subsidies of public rental housing or wait for such subsidies will be reissued with the rent subsidies free from influence of the epidemic.

　　So far, Yiwu Municipal Construction Bureau has received a total of 76 applications for rent reduction/exemption from public rental housing security families. Upon the examination and publicity, the staff will handle the reduction/exemption procedure of rent for those qualified families the first time.
