Winners of the second Yiwu Luo Binwang International Children's Poem Competition were unveiled at the Yiwu Binwang Middle School on Nov 17.
The competition was launched on July 18, 2019 and stopped receiving entries on June 30, 2020 due to the global pandemic.

Contestants had to compose a children's poem within a fixed amount of time, and their works were then evaluated by a panel of judges.
Baek Jun-kim from South Korea and Ian Carrizo Portillo from Mexico participated online, and both won 1,000 yuan ($152) in awards.
In the end, five contestants earned a first-place prize, 10 earned a second-place prize, and 20 earned a third-place prize.
The event was co-organized by the Children's Literature Committee of the China Writers Association, the Zhejiang Writers Association, and the government of Yiwu. It is held every two years.
Luo Binwang, who was born in Yiwu, was a famous Chinese poet who lived during the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and composed poems from a very young age. The well-known nursery jingle Ode to Geese was said to be written by him at seven years old.
