On May 10th, the first overseas leg of the 2025 "Yiwu Fair" concluded at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) in Indonesia. A reporter from Chaos News learned from the relevant person in charge of Yiwu Market Group's Market Exhibition Company that, according to preliminary statistics, the fair attracted 21,000 buyer visits during the event. The Yiwu exhibition group garnered over 4,000 potential customers, more than a thousand letters of intent for orders amounting to over RMB 50 million, and sealed 236 on-site deals worth over RMB 8.9 million.
The Indonesian leg of the 2025 "Yiwu Fair" opened on May 8th. It is reported that this year's fair featured 117 exhibiting companies with 150 booths, and also attracted several high-quality local Indonesian enterprises. Covering an exhibition area of over 5,000 square meters, the fair showcased products spanning daily consumer goods, hardware, electronics and electrical appliances, ornaments and accessories, cosmetics, craft gifts, and other fields.
The dazzling array of merchandise on display underscored the vibrant energy of "Made in Yiwu." Notably, many exhibitors brought with them the "secret code of innovation" to the event—over half of the exhibits were new products, presenting a fresh calling card of "Intelligent Manufacturing in Yiwu" to global buyers.
Sun Min, a market operator specializing in cosmetic tools, told the reporter that after the fair opened, a steady stream of buyers flocked to her booth, which was soon bustling with activity. "We never go into battle unprepared. This time, we brought over 100 products, and the feedback from Indonesian customers has been very positive. Currently, both sides are engaged in in-depth discussions on cooperation details," Sun Min said. She also mentioned plans to invite Indonesian customers to visit the Yiwu market for an on-site inspection to further deepen cooperation.
In Lou Dan's view from Zhejiang Meizhiyuan Cosmetics Co., Ltd., participating in overseas exhibitions is the most direct and effective way to secure overseas orders. "We started preparing a month before the fair, and mainly brought perfumes and aromatherapy products this time," Lou Dan told Chaos News. "We've been receiving a constant stream of visitors during the fair, and through face-to-face interactions, we've gained a better understanding of customer needs and international market trends."
After the fair, Lou Dan plans to visit local markets and supermarkets to further understand local demands.
Indonesia is regarded as one of the most important and dynamic markets in Southeast Asia. According to Yiwu Customs data, in the first quarter of this year, Yiwu's exports to Indonesia reached 2.62 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%.
It is understood that this year, Yiwu plans to organize over 20 "going global" groups involving more than 1,500 company visits, and attract over 1 million buyers by coordinating the efforts of "going global" for operators and "bringing in" for buyers. Subsequently, Market Exhibition Company will also hold a series of overseas exhibitions of the 2025 "Yiwu Fair" in Mexico City (the capital of Mexico), Tashkent (the capital of Uzbekistan), Seoul (the capital of South Korea), and Karachi (Pakistan), continuously enhancing the competitiveness of Yiwu's small commodities in the global trade.
