Compass (North) usage method:
1. Place the compass (North) flat, and as long as the turntable stops rotating, you can read the words on the dial. The direction indicated by the Chinese version is east, west, south, and north. The English version has N for north, S for south, E for east, and W for west.
2. For the pointer-style compass (North), the red needle indicates north (N). When placing the compass (North) flat, you need to wait for the needle to stop rotating, slowly turn the compass, and align the N (i.e., 0 degrees) on the dial with the direction indicated by the red needle. Then read the directions of east (E), west (W), and south (S). The correct direction is the one indicated by the north (N).
Note: 1Some Chinese version of the pointer-style compass has the red needle pointing to the south. When aligning the compass, the red needle should be aligned with the south S (i.e., 180 degrees), so that the direction on the dial is correct. This is not because the compass (north) is wrong, but because it is done according to our traditional Chinese standards. Make sure to remember whether the red needle on your own compass points to the south or the north, to avoid going in the wrong direction when using it.
2. When using a compass, there must not be iron, magnets, or other items that interfere with the use of the compass; the compass must be level (more importantly, the needle or dial inside must be level).
3. Part of the car-mounted compass ball is designed to save the driver's effort and time. The compass ball uses the opposite direction. When the driver is in the cab and sees the words "East" on the front of the compass ball, it means that the direction the car is moving is east. Make sure to confirm whether your own compass ball is manufactured with the reverse direction.
4. When not in use, the compass should be stored away from magnets, iron, and other magnetic items at a constant temperature and away from light.
