German compass - Partial function introduction of the compass (Please refer to the Chinese user manual for details)

Place the compass (compass needle) horizontally, and when the bubble in the level is in the red circle, it indicates that the compass (compass needle) is in a horizontal state. The green arrow on the dial points to the north, and the opposite direction of the pointer points to the southern hemisphere.

Positioning function

Place the compass horizontally (with the north pointer), make sure the lid and body of the mirror are perpendicular to each other, and draw a straight line through the red line inside the lens and the crosshair on the dial. By doing this, you can locate the object. Read the scale of the red line in the lens to find the target bearing angle.

Biaxial Angle Measurement

After locating the known object, read the bearing angle, and then move the compass (compass needle) to read the bearing angle of the target object. The difference between the two angles is the deflection angle.

Map orientation

Place the compass (compass needle) on any meridian (also known as a line of longitude) on the map, rotate the outer ring of the outer scale, so that the black triangle arrow points to the north end of the map, and rotate the map and the compass until the green arrow pointing north on the scale plate points to the center of the compass arrow. At this time, the map is calibrated and is consistent with the direction of natural geographical features.

Night-light function

Night-light function refers to the fluorescent powder in a compass (compass), which, after being exposed to natural light, sunlight, and so on, stores up the energy of light. After stopping the light exposure, it slowly releases the light as fluorescence. In the evening or in dark places, it can still be seen for a short time.

Measure slope

Place the compass horizontally (with the north pointer), open the slope indicator, make the slope indicator and the pointer baseplate perpendicular, release the slope pointer, at this time, the slope pointer will change with the slope change. Read the degree at this time is the slope.

Maintenance and Maintenance Methods
1. When using and placing the compass (North), do not approach iron magnetic objects, high-voltage lines, or electromagnetic devices, etc., to avoid causing errors and reducing sensitivity.
2. When not in use, it should be placed in a place with good ventilation and dryness to prevent mold.
3. When the surface is dirty, it can be lightly wiped with a white fluffy cloth to maintain the smoothness of the surface.
