【Triangular Bandage Wrapping Tutorial】
In pre-hospital first aid, bandaging is a crucial technique. Bandaging protects the wound, reduces infection risk, and creates conditions for further treatment of the injured or ill person. Bandaging materials commonly include triangular bandages, towels, handkerchiefs, cloth pieces, etc. A standard first aid kit always includes triangular bandages, with general dimensions of 96×96×136 cm. The basic principles of using triangular bandages for bandaging (also known as triangular bandage bandaging) are speed, accuracy, gentleness, and firmness.
Quickly—the dressing process needs to be fast;
After covering with the dressing, do not move it;
Light — the movement should be gentle; do not touch the wound;
Bandage----Must be secure.
Here are several common types of bandaging methods:
1. Head bandaging method: Place the bottom edge of the triangle band precisely at the upper part between the eyebrows. The top corner is draped over the head and down to the back of the head. Then, pull the bottom edge over the ears backward, press the top corner against the occipital area, and return to the forehead to tighten and tie it.
2. Mask-like bandaging method: Fold the triangular bandage in half, tie a knot at the top corner, align the top corner with the middle finger to the wrist crease, fold it into a line, then from the folded point align it with the middle finger at two segments, and fold it again into a line; next, align it with the middle finger at one segment from the folded point, and finally fold the second and third lines into two angles, align them with the first line, cut them with scissors into an arc to create openings for mouth, eyes, and nose.
3. Eye Bandage Method: Fold the triangular bandage into a strip three fingers wide. Cover the injured eye with 1/3 of the strip, and wrap the remaining 2/3 from the lower end of the ear toward the back of the head to the healthy side. Flip the strip over at the front of the forehead above the healthy eye, then turn it toward the injured side and tie it securely.
4. Shoulder bandaging method: Place one corner of the triangle bandage diagonally over the opposite armpit on the chest, cover the top corner with the shoulder, secure it with a strap at the deltoid muscle on the upper arm, then turn the other corner upward and pull it, and tie the two ends at the armpits.
5. Chest bandaging method: Place one corner of the triangle bandage against the shoulder, tie the other corner around the waist at the center of the opposite bottom edge, flip up the other corner to cover the chest, and tie it in an 8-shaped knot at the back for fixation.
