Safety Precautions
1. Adjust the wheels before use to ensure smooth operation.
2. Adjust the elasticity of the cushioning pad reasonably using locknuts based on personal usage.
3. Regularly oil the bearings to enhance lubrication and reduce sliding resistance.
4. Beginners need the help of relatives and friends to glide on slopes with a small inclination angle. As their skills improve, they can gradually switch to different slope angles.
5. Do not slide on wet or rough surfaces; when jumping off the skis, check whether you might hit people or other objects around you.
6. If a replacement part is required, it must be of the same specification model as the original component.
Mindset Required
During skateboarding practice, many issues are related to mindset:
1. First, you need to understand that skateboarding is quite challenging. This is why you chose it—because you decided to challenge yourself. If you are the type who cannot accept challenges, perhaps you should consider giving up.
2. Practice regularly, the surface should be flat with no edges, and the frequency must be high. Do not just chat or rest while practicing, nor watch others play. Even if you want to see experts perform, practice while watching, rather than sitting down to watch all the time.
3. Greet people proactively and make more friends who are also new to this. You can observe and learn from each other. There will always be some skilled players who are friendly but not aggressive. There is no need to be afraid of making friends with others because you need friends with whom you can talk about skates.
4. Don’t be afraid of embarrassment. As a beginner, you should focus on your own practice. Just be careful not to bump into anyone or block others’ paths. What others think of you is not important.
5. Don’t think about “showing off”. If you decided to skateboard because you wanted to “show off”, you will experience significant disappointment, as skateboarding isn’t like “singing” or “street dance” where you expect admiration from others. Skateboarding is a challenge for yourself. If your style of skating is praised, that’s good; but if you decide how to skate based on others’ opinions, you lose your original purpose.
6. Don’t expect others to teach you easily; that is impossible. Before asking why you can’t jump, you must have practiced OLLIE at least a hundred times. Then ask someone to help you identify where the posture is incorrect. Some people keep asking even after only ten repetitions of OLLIE. Even if someone explains the real reason, you may not understand it.
7. Practice requires using your brain; every time an action fails, you must improve it in the next attempt, rather than repeating the failed action. Over time, this becomes a habit that is difficult to change, because you have only learned the failed actions.
