The Airbus A310 is a 200-seat short-range aircraft developed by Airbus Industries on the basis of the A300B. The development began in July 1978, and the first prototype flew on April 3, 1982. On March 11, 1983, the prototype was certified by France and Germany, and began to be put into use on March 29, 1983. France is responsible for the manufacture of the central wing box, the lower fuselage, nose and final assembly; Germany is responsible for manufacturing the front cabin, middle upper fuselage, rear fuselage, wing assembly and interior decoration; Britain makes the wings; Spanish-made horizontal tail, front cabin doors and main landing gear doors; The Netherlands, Belgium and other countries also participate in the subcontracted production work.
The A310 was launched as a wide-body aircraft to compete with the Boeing 767. There are also military transport variants adapted for the Luftwaffe. The A310 was officially discontinued and closed in 2007. A total of 260 A310 units were produced.
The A310 was originally developed as A300B10, equivalent to a shortened version of the A300B. After a redesign using a new system technology, named A310. As a derivative of the Airbus A300B, the main difference from the A300B is the reduction of the fuselage -- the same fuselage section, the increase of the interior space in the tail section of the fuselage, and the standard carrying capacity of 220 passengers. The redesigned wing is slightly smaller in height, length and width than the wing, using a smaller tail. The A310's smaller wing provides better lift and performance thanks to advances in aerodynamics, but the wing carries less fuel and has limited range. Tests began at the end of 1983 with wingtip winglets to reduce wing drag, and the A310-200 delivered since May 1986 was fitted with wingtip winglets.
A310 is first use electronic flight instrument with the cockpit central electronic flight monitor (the so-called \"glass cockpit\" glass cockpit flight instrument system) of the aircraft, the cockpit main dashboard has six color cathode ray tube, 4 used in the electronic flight instrument system, two for engine performance parameters of the display. Take the lead to realize the two-man crew system, by the automatic flight system to replace the work of flight engineers, become the industry model. Another innovation is the use of electronic signals to replace the control surfaces previously operated by cables. The Cockpits of the A300 and A310 have good interoperability.
The new system technology adopted by the A310 was also used to improve the A300, and the design was upgraded to the A300-600.
The A310 is available in both the standard A310-200 (range 6,800km) and the long-range A310-300 with a range of 9,600 km. The A310-300 has a range that exceeds that of all Models in the A300 series. The A310-200 has a range that exceeds that of all models in the A300 series except the A300-600, and is available for trans-Atlantic routes due to this feature.
The Airbus A310 is a milestone for CAAC. The A310-200 aircraft with registration number B-2301 is the first airbus twin-aisle wide-body aircraft introduced and operated by the Chinese mainland. It was officially delivered to the East China Administration of the Civil Aviation Administration of China on June 25, 1985 and operated by China Eastern Airlines. The plane, which flew 39,053 hours and made 20,968 landings, was bought back by Airbus after being retired after more than 20 years of safe service and donated to the Civil Aviation Museum of China.
On September 25, 2006, A310 officially withdrew from the operation of China's civil aviation routes.
