How to use the ShuangShuang Bracelet:

walkerDebugging
1. The height of the walking stick should be adjusted according to the patient’s height. The typical height is when the patient holds the stick with both hands, with the tip of the stick being 5–10 cm or 2–3 finger widths away from the armpit.
2. The handle position of the walking stick must be adjusted so that the wrist is level when both arms hang naturally. When using the walking stick for support, the elbow joint can be slightly bent.
3. The force used to hold the cane should come from both hands, rather than relying on the armpits, as these areas have important blood vessels and nerve clusters that could be damaged due to pressure.
4. When standing with the crutches, ensure both feet form an isosceles triangle with the crutch heads

Twice-rod walking
1. Place the walking sticks on both sides of the feet to form an isosceles triangle, ensuring stable posture.
2. First, the toe of the affected foot must not exceed the line connecting the two poles. After standing steadily, use both hands to hold the poles while moving the healthy limb forward. Once you are stable, move the affected limb forward along with the poles, covering the same distance. The foot and the pole tip should touch the ground simultaneously, but the toe must remain within the line connecting the two poles. Repeat this process gradually.

Standing Method
1. Before you prepare to stand up, please ensure that the chair or bed is stable and secure.
2. The normal leg supports the ground, and the body moves forward to the edge of a chair or bed.
3. When bringing the walking sticks together, use the hand on the healthy side of the affected leg to hold the handle of one walking stick, and support the armrest of the chair or the edge of the bed with the other hand.
4. Use both hands to support and apply force, while the normal leg exerts force to maintain stability.
Note: Before starting to walk, make sure you are standing steady first, then place your crutches on both sides of your body.

Sitting and standing method
1. Slowly step back, until your normal leg touches the edge of the chair or bed.
2. Maintain your weight on the normal leg, and bring the walking sticks together.
3. Hold the cane handle with one hand on the affected leg, place the healthy hand on the edge of the chair or bed, and then bend the healthy knee to sit down slowly.
4. Take your time when sitting down, and always keep the crutches next to the chair.
Note: Unless your affected leg is allowed to bear weight, you must keep your affected leg off the ground and without any force during the sitting position.

Climbing the stairs
When preparing to go upstairs, move your body closer to the lowest step of the stairs.
2. Hold a cane in each hand and use them to support while stepping forward onto the next stair step with the normal leg.
3. Maintain the weight on the supporting leg.
4. Reach the same level of stairs on both crutches and the affected leg.
5. Keep repeating, go upstairs. Move step by step; don’t rush.

Down the stairs

Move your body closer to the edge where you can go down the stairs.
Both hands holding walking sticks, move the two sticks to the next step on the stairs, while the affected leg follows.
After using both hands to stabilize, shift the center of gravity downward and move one step down the stairs with the functional leg.
Keep repeating the steps to go downstairs; don’t rush through each step.

There are also other styles of crutches for selection:

How to use the walking stick:

Adjust the cane position: Stand upright with palms on the cane handle. The top of the cane should be 4 to 5 centimeters below the armpit, and the handle should be above the hip line. Walking: Lean forward, place the cane about 30 centimeters in front of the body, focusing on distributing weight on the handle. Swing your body forward and land on an uninjured foot. Sitting down: Face away from the chair, hold the cane with one hand, and slowly bend over. Bring the injured foot forward and use the other hand to support the chair securely before sitting down.
