INTRODUCTION

One Step Cassette Style HCG Urine/Serum Pregnancy Test is a testing kit designed to detect HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) in urine or serum samples. This test kit provides a visual, qualitative result to help detect pregnancy at an early stage.

SUMMARY

HCG is a hormone produced by trophoblastic tissue. It appears around the 8–9th day after ovulation, or around the 4th day after conception. In a 28-day cycle where ovulation occurs on day 14, HCG can be detected in urine or serum in minute amounts around day 23, or 5 days before the expected menstruation. The hormone concentration doubles approximately every 2 days and reaches its peak between 7–12 weeks after the first day of the last menstrual period. In normal individuals, HCG in urine serves as an early indicator of pregnancy. Elevated HCG levels are also associated with trophoblastic diseases and certain non-trophoblastic tumors. Therefore, the possibility of other diseases must be ruled out before a pregnancy diagnosis can be made. HCG consists of two

subunits, alpha and beta. The alpha subunits of these various glycoprotein hormones are structurally very similar, but the beta subunits differ in amino acid sequences. These differences are responsible for their biological and immunological specificity.

TEST PROCEDURE

1. Remove the cassette and dropper from the pouch.

2. Drop 2 or 3 drops of urine/serum into the sample well.

Read the results within 5 minutes.Do not read the results after 10 minutes.
