Reasons why the actual capacity is lower than the nominal capacity:

 1. Errors caused by different decimal systems adopted by manufacturers and operating systems:

  manufacturers use decimal: 1GB = 1000MB = 10000000kb = 10000000000byte

  the operating system uses binary: 1GB = 1024MB = 1048576KB =...

  Therefore, the nominal capacity of 1GB after conversion is approximately equal to the actual capacity of 0.93GB. For storage products with larger capacity, the conversion error is greater.

 2. Storage product system files occupy part of the space:
  like hard disks, flash disks also use FAT file systems, which include MBR primary boot partitions, FAT file allocation tables, and ROOT directory areas. After partitioning and formatting, the system occupies some space on the hard disk and provides it to system files.
  Therefore, the difference between the actual capacity and the nominal capacity is a normal phenomenon.
