A heated roll laminator uses heated rollers to melt glue extruded onto lamination film. This film is in turn applied to a substrate such as paper or card using pressure rollers. The primary purpose of laminating with such a machine is to embellish or protect printed documents or images. Heated roll laminators can vary in size from office based pouch laminators to industrial sized machines. Such industrial machines are primarily used for high quantity/quality output by printers or print finishers.
Whether small office or industrial machines their primary function is to embellish or protect printed works. Such laminators are used to apply varying thicknesses of lamination film onto substrates such as paper or fabrics. The main advantage to the use of heated roll laminators is that of speed. Heated laminators use heated rollers or heated shoes to melt the glue which is applied to lamination film. The process of heating the glue prior to applying the film to a substrate allows for a faster application of the film. The laminates and adhesives used are generally cheaper to manufacture than cold roll laminates, often as much as half the cost depending on the comparison made. As the materials are non-adhesive until exposed to heat, they are much easier to handle. The glue is solid at room temperature, so lamination of this type is less likely to shift or warp after its application than pressure activated laminates, which rely on a highly viscous, adhesive fluid

The machine has 3 operational modes
01.Both red rollers heated, for double sided and pouch
laminating. (DEFAULT SETTING)
02.Heated top red roller for single sided laminating
03.Both red rollers cold for cold laminating.
Press the MODE button for the required selection.
Rollers distance can be adjusted to laminate different thickness of paperachine.

Turn back the infeed table on the film roller; the lower film can be installed.
Study carefully the diagram of the film direction and install in accordance with the diagram. Prepare a card paper at 220g, Press, put the card paper into the machine until you can see at the back of the machine, then press.
(Note the film must be the correct way ie adhesive not touching the red rollers, otherwise the film will not adhere to the item to be laminated, but to the heated rollers)
WARNING THE RED ROLLERS WILL BE VERY HOT, THEMAL GLOVES ARE RECOMMEND
Important note:
It is possible to test what side
is the adhesive side of the film
by quickly placing it against the
heated rollers,the adhesive side
will melt on the roller
Tips: The way to judge adhesive
side: shinning side is a basic and it
touches the rollers directly. The dark
side is adhesive side and it has
adhesive. Be careful before installation
because both sides of matt film is similar.
If you are unsure which the "pre-glued" side of the laminate film, place the film
on the heated red roller, "pre-glued" side will show with the glue melting.
Warning this roller will be at a high temperature , use protection gloves.
Remember that no matter that how to install the film, the adhesive side should be back to the roller.
The width of upper and lower film rollers should be consistent and right & left justification when hot laminating. (User could try when not heated).
In the following conditions, the adhesive will be accumulated on the red heated roller.
1. Only one film roller 2. The adhesive side is towards to the roller
3. The width of upper and lower film rollers are not consistent
4. The upper and lower film rollers not align their left and right edges
or it has the phenomenon of deviation.
Therefore, in these cases, the machines should stop work and cooling to the room temperature. It should clean the adhesive on the roller in time. (See details in the maintenance)
