Note: Each compass comes in an individual packaging box.
This compass has three major functions:
1. Pointing to (red pointer indicates south, white pointer indicates north).
2. Positioning (with the map);
3. Explore the direction of progress (with the use of a map).
The meaning of the scale numbers on a compass:
South is 180 degrees, North is 0 (or 360 degrees), East is 90 degrees, and West is 270 degrees.
英文字母含义:
东E (east), 西W (west), 南S (south), 北N (north), NE东北, SE东南, SW西南, NW西北
Compass Usage Guide:
The compass must be held horizontally and kept away from the following items to prevent the compass needle from becoming disordered: the compass should be kept away from iron wire mesh.
Caution: Keep at least 55 meters away from high-voltage lines, 20 meters away from cars and airplanes, and 10 meters away from magnetic objects such as magnetic containers.
Steps to determine your current location using a compass:
① Make the actual terrain and map direction consistent.
Find two targets that can be seen on the map.
③ Point the compass's direction line (or the long side) toward one of the target objects.
Find the circle that matches the arrow and the pointer (North).
⑤ Do not change the direction of the circle and place it in the northern position on the map.
The tip of the long edge of the compass aligns with the target on the map.
Draw a straight line from the arrowhead of the circle to the extension of the magnetic north line.
⑧ Repeat the same method for another target. The intersection of the two lines is the current location.
Use a compass to find the direction to go:
① Make a straight line that aligns with the long edge of the compass to the destination.
② The arrow pointing to the circle is parallel to the magnetic north line (the arrow is located at the top part of the map).
③ Take the compass off the map and hold it in front of your body.
Twist your body until the arrow and the pointer overlap.
⑤ Then, if you superimpose the direction of the line, it will equal the target direction of the map.
