Milk Water Detection Method: If fresh milk is diluted with water, it becomes thinner and its specific gravity is often lower than 1028, indicating the possibility of water addition. Water addition percentage = (1031 / 1027) / 1031 = 13% Milk Starch Detection Method: After water is added to milk, it becomes thinner, and some people add starch to make the milk's specific gravity close to that of normal milk. Testing method: Take 5 ml of the detected milk and add it to a test tube, then add 2-3 drops of iodine water. If there is starch, a blue color will appear. (Iodine water is prepared by dissolving 1 g of potassium iodide in a small amount of distilled water, then dissolving 0.5 g of crystalline iodine in this solution, and then transferring it into 100 ml of water) Milk Soy Milk Detection Method: Take 5 ml of the detected milk and add it to a test tube, then add 3 ml of a mixture of ethanol and diethyl ether, and then add 282 ml of potassium hydroxide solution is observed for color changes within 5-10 minutes. If it turns slightly yellow, it indicates the presence of soybean milk, which contains saponin that reacts with potassium hydroxide. Detection method for non-fat milk: After non-fat milk becomes thinner and slightly blue, it indicates a low fat content in the milk, and the ratio of milk fat is low. However, the total dry matter content of the milk increases.
