II. Usage Instructions: 1. When the hot air gun is turned on, first connect the power supply and move the switch to the lower position (2) or upper position (1). After hearing a “buzzing” sound (indicating the motor is running), the heating wire will gradually turn red. If it turns very red and emits smoke, this is because a layer of yellow oil is applied to the surface for rust prevention. The smoke will disappear quickly, but after use for some time, the front tube may turn black—this is a normal phenomenon caused by high temperatures. This does not affect the operation of the hot air gun. 2. If the motor does not rotate during use, immediately move the switch to position 0, unplug the power plug, and send the faulty hot air gun to a repair center or manufacturer for repair. 3. When not in use, move the switch to position 0 and place the white iron tube end up on a flat surface to allow it to cool naturally. If the tube end is down, heat inside cannot dissipate quickly, causing the motor temperature to rise and reducing the lifespan of the hot air gun. III. Functions: (1) Removing Old Paint: 1. Using a hot air gun to remove paint does not cause burning due to excessive surface temperature. However, using other tools like gas torches or radiant heaters may cause the surface to overheat and burn. 2. When removing old paint with a hot air gun, as temperature rises, the surface paint softens. Once softened, it becomes easier to scrape off, without damaging the surface. It is recommended to use a flat spatula or scraper; a scraper is safer and less likely to damage the surface. Some paints, such as cement paint, enamel, or mineral paint, do not soften with heat, so heating methods cannot be used for removal. 3. Note that removing paint only softens the outer coating. Once softened, it can be easily scraped off, not burned away. 4. There are many types of paints with different properties. Some oily paints bubble easily, while others do not. They require high temperatures to soften, and once softened, they become more elastic and easier to scrape off. 5. No matter how many layers of paint are applied, a hot air gun can heat and easily remove them. Patience will make the process easier. To make it easier to remove the old paint layer, it is recommended that you heat a large area evenly back and forth so that the material can soften uniformly. (II) Bending Plastic Pipe: When using a hot air gun to bend a plastic pipe, position the air outlet 5–15 centimeters from the surface of the pipe and heat the part to be bent evenly until you feel it begin to soften. Once you notice no resistance in the pipe wall, you can bend it and maintain the bent state until it cools completely. Bend slightly more during bending, as the pipe will rebound slightly in the opposite direction after cooling. (III) Refrigerator Defrosting: During defrosting, you do not need to melt all the ice; simply heat the metal parts. The ice next to the metal parts will start melting, allowing the entire ice to loosen easily, which can then be removed. For your safety, turn off the hot air gun and place it aside when handling ice or touching areas with water in the refrigerator. (IV) Heat-Shrinkable Packaging Film: Use the hot air gun to heat the shrinkable plastic film. Start by heating the film evenly from a distance away, then gradually move closer to ensure uniform shrinkage and tightly wrap the package. (V) Use Near Glass: Removing oil sludge takes time. Although the oil sludge is easy to heat, its thickness requires some time for heat to penetrate it. When there is glass nearby, heat slowly rather than quickly, and keep the hot air gun nozzle at an appropriate distance from the glass—about 20–38 centimeters. However, we still recommend using a protective device or even a wooden board to protect the glass from direct heat exposure. The oil sludge and debris can be removed.
