碎纸机是由一组旋转的刀刃、纸梳和驱动马达组成的。纸张从相互咬合的刀刃中间送入，被分割成很多的细小纸片，以达到保密的目的。碎纸方式是指当纸张经过碎纸机处理后被碎纸刀切碎后的形状。根据碎纸刀的组成方式，现有的碎纸方式有：碎状、段状、沫状、条状、粒状、丝状等。如果是一般性的办公场合则选择粒状、丝状，段状、条状的就可以了。

日常保养：

1、机器内刀具精密、锐利，使用时注意，请勿将衣角、领带、头发等卷入进纸口以免造成意外损伤。

2、碎纸桶纸满后，请及时清除，以免影响机器正常工作。

3、请勿放入碎布料、塑料、胶带、硬金属等。

4、为了延长机器寿命，每次碎纸量应低于机器规定的最大碎纸量为宜，没说明碎光盘、磁盘、信用卡的机器，请勿擅自放入机器碎。

5、清洁机器外壳，请先切断电源，用软布沾上清洁剂或软性肥皂水轻擦，切勿让溶液进入机器内部，不可使用漂白粉，汽油或稀液刷洗。

6、请勿让锋利物碰到外壳，以免影响机器外观。
