In contrast, for the single-layer greenhouse control group, especially the upper and middle leaves were frozen solid. Measurements showed that the temperature under the floating film cover was 1.5°C higher than that in the control group.

Sunshade nets are primarily used in summer, especially in the southern regions where their application is widespread. Some people describe it this way: in winter in the north, it appears white (due to the film covering), while in summer in the south, it appears black (due to the sunshade net coverage). In summer, using sunshade nets for vegetable cultivation in the south has become a major technical measure for disaster prevention and protection. In the north, their use is limited to seedling cultivation of vegetables during summer. The main purposes of covering sunshade nets during summer (June–August) are to protect against intense sunlight, heavy rainstorms, high temperatures, and the spread of pests and diseases, especially in preventing pest migration.

After being covered in summer, it serves to block light, rain, maintain moisture, and cool down; in winter and spring, it also provides some heat retention and humidity enhancement.

Moisturizing Principle: After covering the sunshade, due to the cooling and wind protection effect, the rate of air exchange between the covered area and the outside environment decreases, resulting in a significant increase in relative humidity. At noon, the humidity increase is the most pronounced, typically reaching 13–17%. High humidity reduces soil evaporation, increasing soil moisture.

The sunshade net is made from polyethylene (HDPE), high-density polyethylene, PE, PB, PVC, recycled materials, virgin materials, polyethylene propylene, and other materials. It undergoes UV stabilizers and anti-oxidation treatments, offering strong resistance to tension, aging, corrosion, radiation, and being lightweight. It is primarily used for protective cultivation of vegetables, herbs, flowers, edible fungi, seedlings, medicinal plants, ginseng, ganoderma, and other crops, as well as in aquaculture and poultry farming, and has a significant effect on increasing yields.
