Koruns brandSunshade nets are a protective covering material that has been promoted over the past nearly 10 years. During summer, they provide protection against sunlight and rain, maintain moisture levels, and reduce temperatures. In winter and spring, they also offer some insulation and humidity retention effects. Generally, for leafy vegetables planted in winter or spring, sunshade nets are placed directly on the surface of the leaves (surface covering) to prevent damage from low temperatures. Due to their light weight—only about 45 grams per square meter—they do not crush, bend, or reduce the market value of already grown leafy vegetables. Additionally, their moderate breathability ensures that the leaf surface remains dry after coverage, reducing the risk of diseases. They also allow sufficient light penetration, preventing the leaves from turning yellow or rotting due to excessive heat. In 1997, Henan Agricultural University conducted experiments at Longtang Vegetable Farm in Linying County, where winter greenhouse celery was covered with surface covering to protect it from cold. Results showed that under an external temperature of -6°C, no significant ice formation occurred on the celery leaves when using sunshade nets, whereas in the single-layer greenhouse control group, especially the upper leaves were frozen solid. Measurements indicated that the temperature inside the covered area was 1.5°C higher than in the control group.
The current sunshade net is primarily used in summer, especially in the southern regions where its application is widespread. Some people describe it this way: in winter in the north, it appears white (due to the film covering), while in summer in the south, it appears black (due to the sunshade net covering). In summer in the south, using sunshade nets for vegetable cultivation has become a major technical measure for disaster prevention and protection. In the north, its use is currently limited to seedling cultivation of vegetables during summer. The main purposes of covering with sunshade nets during summer (June–August) are to protect against intense sunlight, heavy rainstorms, high temperatures, and the spread of pests and diseases, especially in preventing the migration of pests.
Sunshade nets, also known as light-blocking nets, are the latest type of specialized protective covering materials used in agriculture, fishing, animal husbandry, wind protection, and soil covering. After being installed in summer, they serve to block sunlight, rain, retain moisture, and cool the environment; in winter and spring, they also provide some insulation and humidity retention. Sunshade nets are made from raw materials such as polyethylene (HDPE), high-density polyethylene, PE, PB, PVC, recycled materials, new materials, ethylene-propylene rubber, etc. They undergo UV stabilizers and anti-oxidation treatments, offering strong resistance to tension, aging, corrosion, radiation, and are lightweight. They are primarily used for protective cultivation of vegetables, herbs, flowers, edible fungi, seedlings, medicinal plants, ginseng, ganoderma, and other crops, as well as in aquaculture and poultry farming, and have a significant effect on increasing yields.           For leafy vegetables planted in winter and spring, a sunshade net is directly placed on the surface of the leaves (floating coverage) to protect them from low temperatures. Since it is lightweight, weighing only about 45 grams per square meter, it can also be applied to tall, established leafy vegetables.
Will not crush, bend, or reduce the product value. Also, due to its certain breathability, the leaf surface remains dry after covering, reducing the risk of diseases. It also has a certain degree of light transmission, so it won’t turn yellow or rot after being covered. 1997Henan Agricultural UniversityInLinying CountyLongtangThe vegetable garden applies a floating film cover inside the winter greenhouse-grown celery to protect it from cold, but it was found that when a sunshade net with a floating film cover was used in an external temperature of -6°C, no significant ice formation was observed on the celery leaves. In contrast, for the single-layer greenhouse control group, especially the upper and middle leaves were frozen solid. Measurements showed that the temperature under the floating film cover was 1.5°C higher than that in the control group.

After being covered in summer, it serves to block light, rain, maintain moisture, and cool down; in winter and spring, it also provides some heat retention and humidity enhancement.

Moisturizing Principle: After covering the sunshade, due to the cooling and wind protection effect, the speed of air exchange between the covered area and the outside environment decreases, resulting in a significant increase in relative humidity. At noon, the humidity increase is the most pronounced, typically reaching 13–17%. High humidity reduces soil evaporation, increasing soil moisture.

The sunshade net is made from polyethylene (HDPE), high-density polyethylene, PE, PB, PVC, recycled materials, virgin materials, polyethylene propylene, and other materials. It undergoes UV stabilizers and anti-oxidation treatments, featuring strong resistance to tension, aging resistance, corrosion resistance, radiation resistance, and light weight.
