Use the compass to detect the current location

① make actual landform consistent with the map direction.

② find two visible targets on the map.

③ line the compass( or long side) towards one of the targets.

④ find the circle with arrow number and pointer( north) it matches.

⑤ place the circle in the northern position of the map without changing its direction.

⑥ the tip of the long edge of the compass matches the target on the map.

⑦ when the arrow number of the circle and the extension line of the magnetic north line draw a straight line.

⑧ follow the same method for another target. The intersection of the two lines is where they are now.

Use the compass to detect the direction of progress

① make the straight line connecting the current position and the destination match the carrying line of the compass( long side).

② the arrow number of the circle is parallel to the magnetic North Line( the arrow is on the top part of the map.).

③ remove the compass from the map and hold it in front of your body.

④ twist the body until the arrow and pointer overlap.

⑤ overlap the direction of the line again, which is equal to the target direction of the map
