Multifunctional compass usage
(1) measuring orientation:
1. Determine the southeast and northwest direction of the place
(1) open the compass! Align the azimuth indicator △0";
(2) turn the compass, and align it at the north end of magnetic needle0" later, the direction referred to at this time is the North, and the east, south, west and north directions can be directly read on the azimuth glass.
2, calibration, figure 10,000
calibration of map orientation is to use compass to make the orientation on the map consistent with the location.
(1) open the instrument and adjust the dial seat to align the azimuth indicator △0";
(2) the mapping ruler is tangent to the real meridian line on the map;
(3) turn the map so that the north end of magnetic needle points to the value of the magnetic declination in the region, then the orientation on the map is exactly the same as the location.
3, measuring magnetic azimuth
A measure the magnetic azimuth of the target on the map
(1) use compass to accurately calibrate the map and keep the map motionless;
(2) tangent the mapping ruler to the connection line of the point and target point, adjust the dial seat to align the indicator "△"0" scribing lines;
(3) after magnetic needle is stationary, the scale on the dial seat indicated at the north end is the magnetic azimuth value from the point to the target point.
B measure the magnetic azimuth of the local Target
(1) turn on the instrument and align the azimuth indicator △0", and make the reflector and the dial seat slightly45°;
(2) use your thumb to penetrate into the hanging ring, hold the instrument flat, and aim from the collimator to the measured target;
(3) look at the division on the scale plate at the north end of magnetic needle from the reflector, which is the magnetic azimuth value of the local target.
