【How to Choose Makeup Brushes】
1. It is recommended to use natural bristles, as they are soft and elastic, provide a comfortable feel when in contact with the skin, and easily hold powder particles, resulting in natural coloring. While synthetic bristles are smoother, they struggle to apply the powder evenly.
2. The bristles must be soft, smooth, firm, full, and not prone to falling off; the handle should also be easy to use.
3. When selecting the brush, you can feel its elasticity with your hand, or press the brush directly against a tabletop. High-quality bristles will be evenly distributed in a circular pattern without any gaps.
4. Scrape the brush back and forth several times on the back of the hand; only those without fallen bristles are of top quality.
5. The method to identify the authenticity of the bristles is to blow hot air from a hair dryer towards the bristles. Those that remain in their original shape are animal hair, while those that curl belong to synthetic fibers.
【How to Clean Makeup Brushes】
1. You can choose a dedicated brush cleaner or use mild cleaning products (such as baby shampoo) for cleaning. When using the brush cleaner, squeeze a coin-sized amount of the cleaner onto the soaked makeup brush, gently rub it, and then rinse with cold water.
2. Never wash in the reverse direction.
3. After cleaning, gently press the bristles with facial tissue or makeup cotton to allow moisture to drain quickly. Be sure not to twist the bristles, as this may cause the structure to become loose or even fall off.
4. After removing excess moisture, hang the makeup brush with the bristles facing down and let it dry naturally in the wind. Do not use a hair dryer for heat drying or expose it to direct sunlight, as this may damage the material.
【How to Store Makeup Brushes】
1. Most cosmetic brands come with corresponding makeup bags, which can also be purchased based on the quantity and size available. Typically, small makeup bags are suitable for storing short-handbrushes or travel brushes, which are commonly used; larger ones are better for storing professional makeup brushes.
2. For brushes that are not in use for a while, it is best to insert them with the head facing up into the makeup container. Long-handled brushes are useful, but difficult to carry. You may consider purchasing a shorter, larger brush depending on the size of your makeup bag.
