Monteys Angel of the Purple Dry Red Wine features a bright deep purple color. It exudes a prominent aroma of red and black berries, along with an enchanting smooth scent of chocolate and mocha coffee. These two scents blend perfectly, creating a complex multi-layered flavor profile. The taste is mild, with smooth tannins, concentrated acidity, and a full body—indicating strong potential for aging.

Brewing Process

Montes has always adhered to the concept of sustainable development. It is a winery in Chile that promotes dry farming agriculture on its estates, significantly improving the utilization rate of water resources. Since 2000, through continuous monitoring of pests and diseases, water resources, and nutrient supply, the use of pesticides, fertilizers, and water resources has been ensured for sustainable purposes. On the other hand, the winery uses grape pomace (grape skins and seeds) to make compost. In wine production, the winery employs advanced gravity flow technology to minimize manual intervention. The harvested grapes are quickly transported to the top floor of the winemaking workshop. After manual sorting, stem removal, and pressing, they are placed in open fermenting tanks for fermentation. Subsequently, the wine is transported to the cellar using a special elevator equipped with stainless steel barrels. All transportation during the brewing process occurs under gravity, avoiding mechanical handling that could cause friction or mixing between the fruit, grape juice, and wine, thereby resulting in a smoother and more delicate tannin profile. Montes Wines is one of the renowned wineries in the Colchagua Valley, Chile. The name of the winery comes from Aurelio Montes Baseden, an excellent and highly business-minded winemaker. As an experienced winemaker, Aurelio always had a dream—he believed that his experience could improve the quality of Chilean wines.
