1.  Safety helmet-related standards

★Safety helmet procurement: Enterprises must purchase products with valid product inspection certificates, and only after inspection can the purchased items be used.

★Safety helmets should not be stored in places such as acids, alkalis, high temperatures, direct sunlight, or moisture, and must not be placed together with hard objects.

★Safety helmet usage period: Calculated from the date of product manufacturing completion.

The plant branch woven hat must not be older than two years.

Plastic hats and paper glue hats must not be used for more than two and a half years.

Fiberglass (vinylon steel) rubber hats must not be used for more than three and a half years.

★According to Article 11.3, the enterprise safety and technology department shall conduct random inspections on expired safety helmets. Only those that pass the inspection may continue to be used; subsequent inspections will be conducted annually. If any batch fails the inspection, it shall be scrapped.

 ★The competent departments of the provincial and municipal labor bureaus shall supervise and urge the safety technology departments of enterprises to conduct inspections on expired safety helmets; they can be used only after passing the inspection.

2. Requirements for the structural design of safety helmets

   ★The top of the cap shell should be strengthened. It can be made with a smooth top or a ribbed structure. The cap shell can be designed as seamless, with edges, or with a curled edge.

★The plastic cap liner should be designed with a rear band structure, allowing for free adjustment of the cap band size (via pull-out adjustment, button adjustment, knob adjustment, etc.).

★The chin strap under the rear clasp is made in a “Y” shape; for those with a rear clasp, it can be made as a single piece.

★The cap strap on the forehead of the contact head must be breathable and sweat-absorbing.

★The padding around the hat band can be made in strip or block form, with space left for air circulation.

★Safety helmets manufacturers must produce strictly in accordance with the national standard GB2811-2007.

★Class Y safety helmets are not allowed to be subjected to lateral pressure, as Class Y safety helmets only protect against injuries caused by straight impacts from top to bottom; they cannot protect against pressure from the side.
