Oil paints brushes can extend their service life if properly stored. Brushes should be cleaned immediately after use to prevent pigment from drying on the bristles, and when not in use for a long time, they should be thoroughly cleaned and sealed with paper.
If you do not use it for a short time, you can first wipe off the remaining paint on the brush with a cloth or paper, then clean it with turpentine and immerse it in water.
(2) Clean the used brushes with turpentine. Prepare two wide-mouth bottles (such as soy sauce bottles) for storing turpentine, one for the initial cleaning to remove any remaining paint from the brushes, and the other for the second cleaning.

After cleaning with turpentine, dip the brush in clean water or warm water and rub it on the soap (note: do not use boiling water as it may damage the metal ring of the brush).
Press the pen tip with your fingers or roll it around in your palm.
Repeat the above actions until the soap foam turns white.
After rinsing with clean water, smooth out the brush hair, and wrap the brush with a slightly harder piece of paper for storage, ready for future use. When cleaning the brushes, it is necessary to apply moderate force, otherwise it is easy to damage the brush hair. The soap used must be weak alkaline soap (there are special brush cleaning soaps available abroad), to prevent the brush hair from hardening. It is possible to use silk hair detergent, but never use paint thinner, as it will make the brush hair brittle due to the loss of oil. Oil paints that have been worn short are usually discarded. If you heat the metal ring over a flame and pull out a little of the brush hair without changing the shape of the brush hair, you can extend the lifespan of the brush. After each brush is cleaned, it should be placed in the brush roll.
