Zero-Hour Protection Technology
Intelligent switches generally employ relays as the 'switch' control element, and contacts are the most important and also the most easily damaged components, particularly in high-voltage and high-power control systems. Contact closing produces contact sparking, and contact opening produces arc discharge, which damages the contacts, leading to control system failure or serious consequences. The contact arc of relays is caused by the reverse electric potential generated when the contacts break if the load is non-pure resistance type, which breaks the air and forms arc discharge. The high temperature generated by the arc will burn the contacts, significantly reducing the life of the relay. Moreover, the electric CI wave interference generated by the arc can affect the normal operation of the electronic equipment of the accessories. If the contact opening happens at the zero-crossing point of the load current, the reverse electric potential will be the smallest, which can reduce the arc discharge. During the design process of intelligent switches, good zero-crossing protection circuit design can significantly improve the product life span.
The controller employs voltage zero-crossing protection technology to eliminate the large current surge during the instantaneous turn-on of LED lights and fluorescent lamps, effectively preventing current overloading during the start-up of thyristor elements.
